How does a hitchhiker of more than a decade end up as an international fractal designer who now appears on many books covers and music albums? I tell you what: I didn’t start off in this direction. I started as a music orchestrator and producer, making and mixing music between cities as I traveled from state to state, then from country to country. It was until a childhood tumor eventually caught up with me that I started to lose my hearing. "Philly Deathgreeter" by Kantiki Packing and getting ready for Burning Man. You'd think I'd be better prepped for my sixth year in the desert... and you'd be wrong. This statue in Philly always reminded me of the playa, so it was fitting to post it. I'll be away for the next two weeks... and... granting I survive it... I'll get back to posting. Oh yeah, clicking the image goes to Flickr. There's plenty of embedding options there for anyone who likes it and wants to post it on their own site. I was going to add in a little review on this place, as it was the best Mexican we had in all the North-East, but then I came across this awesome review that already pinned it over on on Mac & Cheese here . Anyone passing anywhere near Philly really shouldn't miss a chance to hit up Las Bugambilias. Mad love! Burn bright... and stay lit!

The question was: "[What is the most] Ground-breaking hotel or hostel? Why?". The answer that caught my eye was from @LindsayTessis : "Loved the hostels in Cappadocia, Turkey - they're all built in caves! I mean, who doesn't want to sleep in a cave at least once?" I'm sorry, did she just say "cave hostel"? Now, I've stayed in caves before. Spain, America, Mexico... you got it. Love 'em. But an actual hostel built into a cave? I immediately checked into these magical little grottoes for travelers in more detail. After all, some places just throw around the word "hostel" without knowing what it actually means. Then I started seeing cave hostels popping up with things like "free internet" and "breakfast included" and I was sold. These. Caves. Are. AWESOME!
